Busting Those Diets – Disproving those Diet Plans That Just Don’t Work out

Did you know that children’s books and urban legends are not the only sources of popular myths? Myths are also perpetuated by the weight loss industry and you can find them by reading some popular diet plans!

It’s almost like some of these so-called diet books were really just fantasy books written about a big, magic diet weight loss granting genie. It is very dangerous to get hooked on these popular dieting myths.

If you believe these myths, then you will not be able to lose fat. Worse, you are actually harming your body because some ineffective diet plans and programs do not have any scientific basis at all.

If you’re interested in losing weight, here’s some of the most popular weight lost lies that you need to keep away from. By understanding the truth, you can kick start your diet into high gear and start living your healthiest!

Myth number one will tell you that for a diet plan to be effective, it should be meticulously prepared with laser sharp measurements of consumption. Many people think you need to count calories, draw graphs, take averages and tailor your diet to your daily metabolism at every meal.

The honest truth is a lot simpler than all that. The simplest diet plan is the one that will work well. Restricting your food intake is a sure fire way to fail at dieting. The key to losing weight is to find a diet plan that is easy to stick to. And a simple, daily meal plan is what you need.

2) The second myth is that you only have to pay attention to what you eat and not how much. This is one of the most dangerous mis-interpretations of nutrition science.

Another key to losing weight is to cut down on calories. You need to eat less calories in order to stop accumulating as much fat. This means that if you consume more calories than you can burn, then you will become the heavyweight fat champion of the world. Burning calories is where it’s at. When you burn fat, you do not allow it to remain in your body.

The third myth says that fasting is bad for your body. There is some truth to this that is why it has become so pervasive. It is true that starving yourself is generally bad for the health. But, there’s a big difference between starving yourself, and simply not eating because you know that you’re not really hungry.

Your brain will make you want food, whether or not you really need it, like an addiction. Your brain will crave these particular foods even if you are getting the right nutrition and vitamins.  This is food addiction because you are really not hungry.

Once you start being able to control your hunger cravings, you’ll have a much easier time getting control over your weight. By fasting selectively, you can learn to get rid of that constantly nagging urge to eat, and start developing healthier eating habits.

There are a lot of myths associated with weight loss. You have to repudiate these myths so you can start eating healthy to live happier.
